Flexible, family-friendly employer that takes life into account

Staff wellbeing is directly connected to work quality, which is why a good work-life balance is important to us. Through flexible working, we aim to make it easier to combine work and leisure.

We have flexitime, diverse working time arrangements and ample opportunities for remote working. There is also enough space for everyone to work at the office.

You can work flexibly, combining working at home with working in the office as necessary, depending on whether you require quiet concentration, for instance, or if there are family-related factors to consider.

We invest in the wellbeing of our staff by offering occupational health services beyond the statutory level, as well as dental care, generous annual leave, extensive sports and culture benefits, employer-subsidised commuter tickets and a bicycle benefit. With the meals benefit that we offer, you can enjoy a varied lunch service in our staff restaurant, or use the meals benefit in a restaurant or at a grocery store. The taxable value of the meals is added to your basic salary, and you pay income tax on that taxable value.

I appreciate the employer’s provision of good, comprehensive occupational health services, including dental care, and the support provided for leisure activities and hobbies (ePassi, support for staff clubs).

Staff and their families have access to the rest and recreation facilities at Saariselkä in Lapland and Ramsinniemi in Helsinki. The Bank of Finland has a diverse range of leisure-time clubs as well. These staff clubs include the ever-popular Sports Club, which offers a wide variety of sports activities and the chance to participate in competitions between ESCB central banks. Also popular are the Fyrkka theatre club, the Aino art club, the Pruuvi food and wine club and the Naatti gardening club. You are sure to find a club of your choice. Annual staff parties are also part of the Bank’s focus on staff wellbeing.

The Bank of Finland looks after the wellbeing of its employees in a comprehensive way by also offering various leisure-time opportunities.

Staff turning 50 and 60 get a paid day off in honour of this milestone. A paid day’s leave is also granted for graduation, moving house and marriage or registered partnership.

Takes life situations into account, flexible, family-friendly.

We are an equality-based work community with a family-friendly leave policy. We encourage a good work-life balance irrespective of gender or family type. We support the wellbeing of our staff during periods of parental leave, and we provide a stable base and solid support on their return to work.

We support family-friendliness in many practical ways. Visits to the child health clinic during pregnancy are included in working hours. We also offer temporary childcare leave for looking after a sick child up to 12 years of age, and we give paid parental leave of 32 working days equally, regardless of gender. Our occupational health care and dental care services may also be used during parental leave.
