National monitoring group for the digital euro project

The national monitoring group for the digital euro project began its work in 2022, led by the Bank of Finland.

Representatives of service providers, the banking sector and public authorities were invited as members of the monitoring group. The purpose of the group is to communicate information about progress in the digital euro project and to discuss issues relating to the digital euro. The national monitoring group for the digital euro project convened for the first time on 17 February 2022. The group is chaired by Member of the Board Tuomas Välimäki, who is responsible at the Bank of Finland for the preparations for a digital euro.
