ICT and Information Management Department

ICT and Information Management is responsible for the provision of IT services and tools, as well as document and library services, to the Bank of Finland and the FIN-FSA. The department maintains the data and systems architecture and fosters efficient and effective use of information assets. It also develops operation-enhancing digital solutions in cooperation with other departments and governs information management, information security and IT project management practices.

The Head of Department is Petteri Vuolasto.

The department  includes the following divisions and units:

Common IT Services

The Common IT Services division is responsible for the processes involved in administering IT services and end-users’ customer service and hardware. It also centrally provides IT services for the Department’s other teams and customers.

The division also houses the PaaS team, which is tasked with the supply of efficient, high-quality data centre and data communications services.

IT services for the FIN-FSA

The IT services for the FIN-FSA division administers and develops IT user services, produces efficient, high-quality systems and provides systems support to the FIN-FSA’s departments and the Bank of Finland’s General Secretariat. IT services for these departments are produced by two client account teams.

IT Services for the Bank of Finland

The IT Services for the Bank of Finland division administers and develops IT user services, produces efficient, high-quality systems and provides systems support to the Bank’s departments. Three client account teams are charged with producing IT services for the departments.

Shared Information Management services

The Shared Information Management Services division is responsible for document administration, library and information services as well as content management systems. Records management services include the document register as well as procedures and systems for the processing of documents. The library provides the books, journals and extensive digital resources needed for research activities and other expert work within the Bank. The library’s information services include the Bank’s historical archive.
