Nearly 370 experts in their specialist fields have chosen the Bank of Finland as their employer. Roughly a further 240 experts are employed by the Financial Supervisory Authority (FIN-FSA), which operates in connection with the Bank of Finland. Although the FIN-FSA takes its decisions independently, its employees are in a public-service employment relationship with the Bank of Finland. The main offices of the Bank of Finland and the FIN-FSA are located in Helsinki city centre. Maintenance of the cash supply, one of the Bank’s official tasks, is handled in Vantaa.  

 

As part of the Eurosystem, the Bank of Finland offers a range of interesting work of significance to society at large and covering monetary policy and research, financial markets, banking and cash supply. Most of the staff working in the Bank’s core functions are economists or in other expert roles. In addition, the Bank also possesses strong in-house expertise in fields such as IT, HRM, financial administration, security, communications, financial literacy and language services.

In recognition of the positive results in a staff survey carried out in 2023, the Bank of Finland was ranked among ‘Finland’s most inspiring workplaces’, which was the second time it has received this award. According to a study published by Universum in May 2023, the Bank of Finland is the tenth most attractive employer among students of business studies. At the LinkedIn Talent Awards in 2021, the Bank of Finland was voted one of the three Best Employer Brands in the Nordic region in the category for organisations with under 1,000 employees.
